What matters for Medicare plans in Mentor

In Lake County, 44.9% of people with Medicare stay with Original Medicare, more than the Ohio share of 43.4%. People in Original Medicare often add a Medicare Supplement and a Part D drug plan, which lets you see any doctor in the country that accepts Medicare. We compare that route side by side with Advantage plans.

6,966 people in Lake County get Extra Help, the federal program that lowers Part D drug costs for people with limited income and savings. If your budget is tight, we check whether you might qualify before comparing plans.

7.8% of adults in Mentor are veterans, so VA health care is part of the picture for many local households. VA coverage and Medicare are separate, and if you delay Part B you may owe a late-enrollment penalty if you sign up later. Military retirees with TRICARE need Part A and Part B to keep TRICARE For Life.
